I often leave the camera at home when I go for my morning walk. Wrangling a Labrador and a camera at the same time can be tricky. But, on this morning, the light was particularly lovely, and I'm glad I took the camera with me.

I've been trying to branch out a bit lately and shoot some different subjects. Music is something that has always felt integral to my life, much like photography. So, I grabbed a stack of records for a few quick shots.

I play the guitar... and if you also play the guitar, I'm guessing you recognize this logo and can finish the word immediately.

When a friend texts you that the aurora is out and you should go outside immediately, you do it. Perhaps not the most photogenic location, but the sky was dancing. Of course, to the naked eye, it looked more like a sewer with toxic waste, but I digress.

After a few shots along the road, I moved to a darker spot... It's still amazing me to me to see what the camera can capture when my eyes can't quite see it.

If I had to pick a favorite album of all time, I think Revolver by the Beatles would be it. My parents had the record in their collection, and I remember lying on the floor listening to it over and over again with my head right against the large wood stereo speakers (think growing up in the 1980s) so that I could feel the music.

I'm not a big collector of things... With two kids and a dog and a not-so-large house, we're always trying to downsize the stuff. But, last year, we decided to carve out space for a record player, and it's one of my absolute favorite things. That tiny scratch when the needle hits the vinyl gives me goosebumps every time.

I dropped the ball pretty spectacularly on my 52 Clicks P52 project this year. After a few weeks, I just kind of dropped off and forgot about it. But, I was recently inspired to jump back in. I don't believe in waiting for a new year to get started on things, so I've jumped back in for the last few weeks of the year. Better late than never, right?
This image was my Week 46 submission for the theme "Emotion: Details." Since it was the week before Thanksgiving, I created a flat lay of a few things that make me happy and that I am thankful for in this current season.

Here's a more minimalist take on the record player. I kinda like it.

Prepping a tray of veggies takes a few minutes... But, taking photos of prepping a tray of veggies takes hours. Not sure I really recommend it.

I love late autumn when the air is crisp and I can cozy up with a cup of tea. This is my attempt to capture that feeling in one image.

Playing around with selective focus and blur is always a go-to when I'm struggling to decide what to shoot. As you can see, this cup of tea and assortment of fall things got a lot of attention.

Wider lens for a different angle on the cup of tea.

Whenever I have dying and drying flowers around, I always have to get a few shots. These were roses that came from a bunch of flowers I got for my birthday. Almost a month later, and they were ready for their close up.
