Picking up the camera hasn't been as much of a priority as I'd like this summer... But, a rainy day always gets my creative juices flowing. I just love those droplets on the sunflower petals!

Lately, I find myself picking up my velvet lenses a lot more than I used to... I love that velvety blur and the wilting, wet petals.

And, of course, whenever I'm looking for inspiration, I usually play around with a few double exposures.

My mom always called these flowers "brown eyed Susans" ... I have no idea if that's actually the name, but they are spreading like wildfire through my garden, and I'm not even mad about it.

Anyone out there good at growing eucalyptus? I am not, but I absolutely love it. One year I want to have a whole giant row of it in my garden, but that requires having the plants survive more than a few weeks.

Ferns are another thing that I've been working into the garden this year, and they are always fun to play around with for photos.

These strawberry blonde marigolds haven't panned out to be what I had hoped in the garden, but they do really lend themselves well to a moody garden photo, don't they?

Fennel! The caterpillars love this stuff, and then we have lots of butterflies! I also find myself craving Italian sausage all the time.

I have certainly gotten my share of sunflower photos this summer. I tend to like them when they are a bit past their prime.

I am also mildly obsessed with those tiny hairs on the sunflower leaves and stems. Can you blame me, though?

We've seen quite a few butterflies this season... They are always fascinating to watch and photograph!

Let the record reflect that the flowers in my hanging basket from Mother's Day are still alive!

I was out strolling around and it started to downpour... So, I hid in the garage and continued to shoot. I loved the reflection of the light on the driveway.

There's something about the light after the rain... I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's always so lovely.
