Double exposure shot with Lensbaby Sol 45mm.

On a grey evening last week, I went for a stroll and found myself capturing some moody images of berries on pine trees. This one, a double exposure, was probably my favorite. Even though spring is around the corner, there are still plenty of moody winter vibes left.

This picture is dramatically different than the first one, and the vibe is much more cheerful! On a short trip to Longwood Gardens, I snapped this image quickly while waiting to meet up with a friend.

One thing I love using the Double Glass II for is to focus on a small portion of an image and let the blur remove some of the clutter. At times, I find that all of the different flowers and plants, while beautiful, can become a bit overwhelming in the frame. So, for this image, I zeroed in on the waterfall and let the lens handle the rest.

Part of the reason for my trip to Longwood Gardens was to see the famous blue poppies that had just begun to bloom. They are particularly rare and are a lovely shade of blue. That said, I'm not sure they're my favorite flower. I did take quite a few photos, though.

I think my favorite part about the blue pansies is that little bit of purple/magenta in the petals. I found myself focusing on that detail quite a bit!

I'm also quite partial to photographing partially closed flowers... I have no idea why, but it's something I go for every time.

In case you were wondering what the inside of the poppies looks like... One more photo!
