Sometimes it almost feels wrong to convert florals to black and white. These bright pink peonies certainly are not lacking in color. But, then again, I also like the detail and texture that comes through when you take the bright colors out of the picture, literally.

Another black and white of the peonies in my back yard. I just love the way the petals slowly unfurl.

I used to do a monthly self portrait, and I've completely dropped the ball on that this year. I just haven't had much motivation to get in front of the camera. But, last week, I decided to give it a go. Nothing fancy, just sitting on the stairs, shot with the 50mm.

I suspect part of my lack of self portrait motivation is rooted in a feeling of lost identity lately. Not sure if it's age, longer hair, exhaustion, or what, but I just feel like I've lost my personal sense of style. So, this double was my attempt at conveying that mood.

I used to share a few Converse pics every week, and I've been slacking on those, as well. So, here's a quick double from the garden where the bees were buzzing around.

As discussed in previous weeks, I am loving ferns lately.

I always enjoy a good double when it comes to shooting perennials and wildflowers.
