While it may not be apparent to the viewer looking at my images (or maybe it is??), this year has felt like a bit of a photography slump to me. 138 days in, and it still feels a bit forced and lacking in inspiration and creativity. This particular image was an attempt to break out of that, but I still don't feel like it quite hits the mark. It's a combination of four images, all done in camera.

My gardening, somewhat like photography, tends to go through phases. This summer, I'm in a bit of a fern phase and cannot seem to plant enough ferns. I suspect this will backfire, as most of my gardening phases do.

There's just something about bronze fennel in the rain. Soon there should be caterpillars, but for now, it's just raindrops.

I'm honestly not against creating, simply for the sake of creating. Uninspired creating is a thing that happens, right? I mean, I'm the one who's on year 4 (5? 6? 7? I forget) of a 365 project. But, I often wonder if my "creative" photography tools steal my creativity at times. So, here's a standard lens shot.

I'm not exactly an insect-lover. But, I've discovered that the bees care much more about the flowers than they do about me sticking my lens in their business. I can't say I love this, but the bee was in relatively decent focus, so here it is.

I kinda love the composition here. I can't say it was intentional (though maybe it was subconsciously?), but I like that the focus fell way to the side of the frame. It's not really a traditional composition, it's way beyond the thirds or the golden ratio. I suppose, there's some layering going on , so it has that going for it? I don't know. Sometimes, I like what I like.

Peonies. That's really all I have to say about this.
