It's been A WEEK around here... I don't know about you, but craziness at home always affects my ability to photograph. Of course, having kids home from school and lots of people sick means I have less time to photograph. But, it also affects my mood and the state of the house. Cluttered house, cluttered mind, cluttered photos.
I approach my Project 365 pretty loosely. My real "rule" is that, by the end of the year, I would like to have 365 photos that I have taken and edited during the year. I assign them numbers and typically try to shoot and edit seven each week... But sometimes I shoot all of them on one day, or have to pull up a photo from the archives that I haven't shared previously. Giving myself a bit of flexibility has really helped my P365 "success" rate, so to speak.
So here are this week's photos... Most of them were taken this week, and I honestly don't remember the details of when. But, there are seven and we are calling that a success.

I picked up these white tulips last week for Valentine's Day. Yup, I buy my own flowers for Valentine's Day, and these ones were only about $9 at Trader Joe's. My husband is lucky that I'm such a bargain (LOL... let's not discuss my lens collection).
They might not be a traditional Valentine's choice for flowers, but I have a thing for white flowers, white tulips in particular.

Short story... A few years ago, I bought a giant monstera plant for $30 at a local greenhouse. I had to replant it because it was breaking out of its pot. The original plant was named Frankie (short for Frankenstein, because it's a monstera... of course), and after splitting and propagation, I believe this one is Frankie XIV.
Also, if you're in the market for a monstera, you know who to talk to.

This time of year, Kona tends to make a lot of appearances in my P365. she loves to lounge around the house. And, if I'm lucky, I catch her when she's sleepy and she doesn't run away before I have time to set the camera for a photo. This photo is a double exposure I took as she was sleeping in my bedroom. You can see how thrilled she was that I disturbed her nap.

Yup, white tulips again.
One of the things I love about tulips is the way the texture of the petals changes as they age a bit. Much like me, as they start to mature, fine lines start to appear. If only I could appreciate them on my own face the way I adore them on the tulips!

Still tulips... I got more than my $9 of enjoyment out of this bunch!
On a particularly sunny day, I relocated the tulips to a ray of sunshine in my sunroom. This is a double exposure of the yellowing petals and the bottom of the vase they are in.

And, we are back to Kona. Are you noticing a theme this week?
She loves to lounge on the couch in our sunroom. It sits between my lemon and lime trees (named Lemmers and Limers, obviously). So, I often shoot through the tree for a bit of bokeh and blur (and to hide the clutter in the room). Please excuse the less-than-squeaky-clean window.

Not tulips, surprisingly.
These carnations have stayed alive on my counter for weeks It figures, because I don't actually love carnations all that much. The flowers I love never last that long.
Anyway, they caught my eye this morning and I decided to play around... and this is the result.
