We took a trip to Longwood Gardens a few weeks ago, and the kids had fun exploring the tree houses they have built. I had fun snapping photos while they were running around.

I've been gradually getting back to shooting some Converse shots here and there. And, I do love a good double exposure.

Yes, I was the weird person lying on the ground to get this shot of the water gardens at Longwood Gardens. I think it was worth it for that reflection and the subtle ripples in the water.

Shots of people taking photos with their phone will never cease to amuse me. I loved these evening silhouette.

Fireworks and fountain shows always seem fun to photograph to me, but I'm often not thrilled with the results. This one is a double exposure that I used to fill in some of the space in the photo.

Here's another take on the fountain show double exposure... It's a bit more abstract with some out of focus areas of light and color.

I shot this as a double exposure in camera ... but I also went into Photoshop and added the image of my daughter walking back in as a third layer to emphasize that part of the image. It's a good lesson on having the camera save each of the individual exposures when you are shooting a multiple!

If you're thinking, this looks like the last image, you're right. But, I couldn't resist adding a black and white conversion, as well. I cannot decide which I prefer.

I'm not someone who likes to use my phone to shoot. But, the stark black and white preset is gradually changing my mind. My daughter and I went to a pottery workshop last week, so I snapped a few photos with my phone, and I love the details in black and white.

It's officially "insects I found in the garden" season of photography. Here I present you a small ant crawling on my gladiolas.

Keeping in theme, I found this ladybug nestled into the leaves of my zinnias.

I forget the name of these zinnias, but the start out green in the center and gradually transition to a pink/red color on the outside. They look nothing like the photos on the package, but I still like them anyway.

The sunflowers are just starting to bloom. I loved the bokeh in the background on this one.

The tomatoes are also starting to make an appearance. Perhaps next week there will be a photo of homemade salsa.
