Sluggish seems to be the best word I can use to describe my creativity lately. The moments of motivation to pick up my camera have been few and far between... And, even when I have picked up the camera, it's felt a bit forced.
While it can be discouraging and frustrating, it does seem to be a part of the creative process for me. I certainly do not create in a vacuum, and the world hasn't exactly been setting me up for creation lately. I would imagine that many of you can relate.
But, I also believe that times like these are precisely when I find the most value in a daily photography project. While it may be a bit forced, creating is also self care. Choosing to find beauty in the everyday when the world is burning feels like a protest. It's resistance. And we have to keep resisting.
We have to keep creating... Creating is finding beauty and light. And, as I've always found in the past, eventually we will find the flow again.

I was shooting shadows for last week's P25, and we were lacking in sunshine and shadows. So I handed my husband the guitar and had him play near a window. This is one I didn't share for that post last week and thought I'd include it here.

Talk about beauty in the every day ... Isn't it amazing that snowflakes actually look like snowflakes? Never ceases to amaze me.

I love evergreens... So, naturally I had to snap a few shots in the snow this week.

When everything is cold and grey, I can usually find some inspiration in the shapes and patterns of the tree branches overhead. I particularly enjoy the Sweet effect here, as the tree and background stretch into the blur.

I've shot a lot of black and white lately, but this vinyl color had to have its moment. I'm still finding my groove on Bluesky, and one of the things I'm enjoying right now is a daily music mood challenge. This image was shot to go along with my song for the day - "Zero" by the Smashing Pumpkins.

20 (almost... in June) years of marriage looks like me picking out my own flowers for Valentine's Day. I usually pick something non-rose that I want to photograph. This year, I bought white tulips and some eucalyptus. These carnations were actually a purchase last week, but they were just begging for a photo on Valentine's Day.

Another snowy day... So, you get another photo of a bare tree in the snow shot with the Sweet 80. It seems I didn't have the energy to switch lenses on the camera at all this week. Hopefully I will do better next week, but don't hold your breath.
